Commitment to Alaska Native Shareholders
A Deeper Purpose
Every project our companies tackle directly supports our Shareholders — the Central Yup’ik and Athabascan people of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Region.
An Alaska Native-Owned Company
Congress passed the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1971, a law that gave Alaska Natives land and resources to support their communities.
ANCSA created 12 regional corporations to manage these resources, including Calista Corporation (our parent company).
As part of the Calista Corporation, our work directly impacts people in the Calista Region. Through career opportunities at our subsidiaries and distributions made by Calista, we support the social and economic wellbeing of our Calista Shareholders.
Life in the Calista Region
Many Shareholders live on their Homelands and are deeply connected to their Alaska Native culture, practicing a subsistence lifestyle through hunting, fishing, and gathering.
Nearly 58,000 square miles of tundra, sloughs, lakes, rivers and uplands
The ancestral home of over 39,100 people across 56 remote villages
There are few roads connecting these communities. Travel is by boat, plane, ATV, or snow machine.
Shareholder
Opportunities

The Calista Internship Program gives Shareholders hands-on work experience.

Economic Impact
As we grow, so do the benefits we provide to Calista Shareholders through distributions and support.
