Eva Creek Wind Turbine Bearing Replacement
ALASKA CRANE
Subsidiary: Alaska Crane
Client: Golden Valley Electrical Association
Location: Ferry, Alaska
Completed: June 2021
Alaska Crane was subcontracted by GVEA for the replacement of a gearbox and three blade bearings at Eva Creek Wind Farm. Using the Liebherr LTM 1500 and LTM 1220, we tandem lifted and lowered each blade for ease of maintenance. GE replaced the bearings with assistance from ACL. Certified operators and riggers ensured safety and precision, supported by detailed lift plans. Mobilization began in May 2021, with work completed by June 17. ACL’s efficient execution and advanced lifting solutions supported Alaska’s renewable energy sector, delivering the project on schedule and demonstrating exceptional expertise.
